Pinguicula Titan
Pinguicula Titan, is a robust and easy-to-grow butterwort cultivar, developed by Leo Song, the greenhouse manager at Cal State Fullerton University. This cultivar, believed to be a hybrid of Pinguicula agnata and Pinguicula macrophylla, is notable for its large, bronzy leaves and its capacity to produce substantial, round flowers on elongated scapes. The flowers of Pinguicula Titan are not only visually striking but are also reputed to have a fragrance, although this has not been widely confirmed. During its dormant period, Pinguicula Titan forms a tight, subterranean hibernaculum, a structure that helps it survive less favourable conditions. Despite its potential size during peak growth, the plant typically remains compact when shipped, usually measuring between 1″-1.5″ in diameter.
